‘Mad Men’ Still Reigns with Substance and Style
Filed Under (Press) by Britt at 4:42 pm
Months may have passed in the world of Mad Men, but surprisingly little has changed for our (anti) heroes with the third season openers, “Out of Town” and “Love Among the Ruins”. Don Draper (Jon Hamm) still seduces anything in a pencil skirt, while his wife Betty (January Jones) grows ever bigger as her unwanted pregnancy progresses. Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) continues to struggle to find her footing in heels at Sterling Cooper, while her one-time lover Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser) still whines and whimpers at every indignity. And the world would stop spinning on its axis if Joan (Christina Hendricks) didn’t look fantastic, but rest assured, the sun will still rise in the morning thanks to costume designer Janie Bryant and Hendricks’ good genes.
The premiere episode’s opening scene proves that showrunner and writer Matthew Weiner hasn’t lost any of his playful spirit or wicked sense of humor with the months that have passed since season two. The beginning moments of “Out of Town” take us to the past, but it also shows us where we are in the show’s present: Betty’s still-pregnant state reveals that this season has only skipped ahead a few months, not years as season two did. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief: we’re in 1963, and we haven’t missed the defining moment of that year, John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

Episode 3.03 Leaked On iTunes
Filed Under (Press, Season Three) by Britt at 2:23 am
As a site note, we will not be posting any information from this leaked episode as we would like to respect Matthew’s views on the no-spoiler policy. We will continue to post information from sources like TV Guide. I has the unexpected pleasure of viewing this episode through my season pass, however, screen captures and information from the episode will not be posted until the episode has aired on AMC. Thanks!
After waiting nearly a year for the new season of AMC’s “Mad Men” to have its premiere last Sunday, some fans discovered on Tuesday that they were briefly able to download the third episode of the new season from the Apple iTunes store, nearly two weeks before it is scheduled to be broadcast on television. (Right, Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy on the show.)
Bloggers for Web sites like mashable.com and several Twitter commenters said they discovered the “Mad Men” episode, called “My Old Kentucky Home,” had been automatically downloaded to their iTunes queues — and to the queues of other Season Pass holders — just before midnight on Tuesday, though the episode is not scheduled to be shown until Aug. 30. The glitch was fixed, and users are no longer able to download the episode. In a statement AMC asked “those who received this episode in error to please refrain from spoiling plot lines out of respect to other ‘Mad Men’ fans who are looking forward to watching the story unfold.”
